A Beautiful Body Project

The phrase “a picture is worth a thousand words” has never really resonated with me until I saw a picture from Jade Beall Photography. One look at this picture tells a story of it’s own and will also transform how you look at your body. I look at this picture and for the first time ever I’m okay with the fact my stomach will never be flat. I’m also at peace with the fact my breasts are saggy – looking at this picture is a reminder that there are more important things in life. I nursed 4 children for 8 years, I carried twins inside my stomach and wonder how my life ever existed without their twin giggles and ever questioning huge brown eyes. My stomach also carried two sons that my heart would no longer beat without. All of these realizations hit me with one picture and I truly understand that a healthy body is one that is nourished and moves for joy of movement – not for the inside of a gym to change what my children’s birth did to alter it.  See the picture and beautiful words below it that belong to Jade – they are stunning.

“Yes, I stretched physically while growing emotionally and spiritually to grow humans inside of my body and fed them from this body too.
Yes, I am sexy.
Yes, I will never be the same.
Yes, I am a Mother.
Oh yes, I am proud.
Yes, I am vulnerable.
Yes, I am as strong as a house.
Yes, I am your sister.
Yes, I have a story too.
Yes, I am a reflection of you.

This amazing photographer has launched a project called A Beautiful Body.
