How fun! I share this fun idea, I use to work at a winter outdoor adventure camp in Quebec and we love The Smurfs in Quebec (little blue and white forest people from France) and when we would go snow shoeing or cross country skiing, I would go ahead and find a tree with an opening at the base, I would make little foot print coming out and going back in the tree and put blue coloring food in each foot print. Then we would stop and I would say all marveled: “shhhh, there is a Smurf home right here, we don’t want to scare them” All the kids were in awe that the Smurfs really existed, it was magical! They talked about it during their whole stay at the camp.

How magical!! The only suggestions I have is changing the glitter to flower petals or some other organic material as (most) glitter can be harmful to little creatures and doesn’t biodegrade. Thanks for the great post and links!

What a fun idea. I first heard about fairy doors this past summer and find it to be such an enchanting concept. I’d welcome fairies into my gardens any day!
