Going back to school can be a challenging place for parents to find green options. Biggest environmental offenders, in my opinion, are products made from plastic that may contain lead. This is not a toxin that parents would welcome into back-to-school supplies, but if they contain PVC plastic, you can’t be sure. So where possible, I like to spend extra dollars to ensure a well designed and safe backpack for school, plus I’m a stickler for stainless steel items for lunches and water. So I’m super excited to be sharing this great prize from My Little Green Shop with big focus on quality: 17oz S’well Bottle (your choice of colour) and an Ecogear Backpack.

When it is anything that might bother my youngest’s asthma
All the time
My son has used an ecogear pack for 2 school years and it’s still going strong! We love it.
Everything- but I look into potential health risks first (possible chemicals), then local/ environmental impact
Always! No unnecessary risks for the kiddos.
I absolutely research everything ingested or touching my child’s body. Got to cut chemical exposure where you can
Always. I have an 8 yo and almost 9 month old, so always researching 🙂
When it costs a lot &/or needs to last a long time.
I look for BPA-free products, especially for lunchbox items.
I always check labels, ingredients, etc.
I am a big ingredients list reader of toiletries and always check nutritional info of food as well. It’s amazing what can be hidden in your food.
food. No gmo’s please.
Food is always a big one. Safety is another. Better safe than sorry. Never hurts to research anything and everything where kids are concerned. 🙂
I am a stickler about certain products because I want to teach my kids to be smart, socially conscious consumers who learn to question the status quo.
Mainly with food and supplements, but have slowly started with other things.
Pretty much everything!
99% of the time! I know that I can’t do everything 100%, but what I can do, I do.Really nice bottles and backpack!
Definitely food and healthy snacks for the lunchbox!
I’m very particular about buying items that are non-toxic and ecofriendly for my child, especially toys and personal care products.
Often, health is a priority!
Anything that might affect their health and/or safety…. so just about everything. 🙂
Love it!
I’m not sure I’m a sticker, but I am trying to make better choices. Sometimes I can’t do everything I want, but I am slowly improving.
When it is something they use a lot.
I am a stickler for anything that my kids will ingest or absorb through their bodies. I also want what is best for the environment.
When they will be using it everyday. Skin care, eating utensils for school, water bottles, lunchbags, etc.
I try to, and also great resources like this open my eyes to more then I knew, thanks!
Always. I am always researchino new items. Especially when it has to do with my son.
Done 🙂 looks like a great one
Everything, seems like nothing is safe. 🙁
Always a stickler, ALWAYS!!!! lol
I am a stickler when I have never heard of the product or company before. I try to always find good resources with valid information. When it comes to my kids.. how can you not be a stickler Is it bad that my 10 year old daughter checks expiry dates on her own on food, even when buying it with me at the store. LOL
I try to do it every week I want the best for my children
All the time.
Food.
I am always careful when it comes to items that touch my daughters food or are ingested! Cutlery and dishes, straws, ,water bottles.
When it comes to my family what we put in and on are always done with lots of care and concern!
Always checking labels…need to know what is going into our bodies
Been wanting to try both of these products for a while. Thanks for the chance.
I didn’t know that some backpacks have PVC/lead concerns. Yikes.
That’s a difficult question. I researched the lunch boxes I bought but after a while I had to go with what I could buy locally, was designed well, seemed to be made in a good fashion, and was affordable.
About car seats and car seat installation
All the time. From their food to the containers I put them in. I can never be to careful
Always. Two of my kids have so many allergies I can never be too careful.
